Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed the weekend.
We started our day with O’ Canada and the announcements in the gym with everyone.
Following the morning announcements, we had our daily calendar, weather circle, and 100 days of school. We ended our morning jobs by sharing our weekend news with Penguin.
After recess, we had Phonics. Today we learned the “Jj” sound. We brainstormed words and names such as; jam, Jaime, Jon, Jell-O, etc. Students then wrote five of the brainstormed words in their Phonics Duotangs.
After lunch, everyone went to Gym class with Ms. Cranfield.
Gym class was followed by Math. We started our measurement unit today. The lesson began by comparing the measurement difference between an adult chair and a child’s chair, big vs. small. Students learned the difference between tall, long and big. Although all three of these terms refer to an item as larger than another, long would more preferable run horizontal where tall would be vertical. Examples were drawn on the board, followed by comparing fruit sizes.
We ended the day in French class with Mme. Villeneuve.
I hope you have a fabulous evening.
