November 13

Happy Monday!

Today, we started our day with our school assembly and O Canada, followed by our morning calendar and weather circle.

Next, we had a math lesson. We were introduced to coins, and we talked about the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, loonie and toonie. We discussed what they looked liked and what pictures were on them. We noticed that Queen Elizabeth is on every coin. Then we sang the song “I got Canada in my pocket.”

After recess, we had our phonics lesson. We learned about the letter “Ff”, sang the jolly phonics songs, and brainstormed things that started with the letter “Ff”.

Next we combined with the SK class for our unit of inquiry activity. We discussed how to make our food plate balanced with all four food groups in preparation for our healthy food party tomorrow. Then we did an interactive activity on the Smart board. If you would like to try at home, here are the links:

After lunch, the students had their daily gym class with Ms. Cranfield, followed by a story and the daily 5.

We finished off the day with a French lesson from Mme. Villeneuve.

I hope you had a great day!

Ms. Elliott

P.S. Please bring in a healthy snack to share amongst 20 students for our healthy food party tomorrow. Students may also dress up as a superhero if they choose.
